Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
Supervised by Angela Funke, MA, LMFT-S
Specializing in Relational Trauma and Neurodivergence in Relationships
Hi! I’m Kyle and I am a Marriage & Family Therapist Associate licensed in Texas (license #205816) under the supervision of Angela Funke, MA, LMFT-S. I received my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2024 and my BS in Psychology and Minor in Neuroscience from Texas A&M University in 2020.
I deeply believe that you are not your problems; you are a person deserving of love and understanding.
My approach to therapy recognizes the profound impact that past trauma, attachment patterns, neurodiversity, and the nervous system have on emotional well-being and important relationships.
I employ a range of modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and parts work to help clients address and integrate different aspects of the self, allowing for deeper healing and larger capacity for fulfilling connection.
Additionally, my extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the treatment of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) allows me to guide clients toward healing through the gradual reprocessing of traumatic material in a safe environment. I pride myself on creating a space that is nurturing, calm, and supportive, whether that be in my office, on telehealth, or out in nature during walk-and-talk therapy. You can learn more about these services here.
When I’m not helping others navigate their emotional landscapes, I recharge through board games, rock climbing, disc golf, and immersing myself in nature. I live with my loving partner and two cherished cats, Lilo and Mochi.
Populations Served
While I see clients in all formats and from all backgrounds, I most enjoy working with romantic partners and families striving to build meaningful connections despite previous emotional scars or neurodiverse challenges. I specialize in:
-
I assist partners who face challenges such as communication issues, distrust, infidelity, negative cycles of conflict, or emotional distance. By working together, we can uncover unmet needs, improve communication, and rebuild a connection that is grounded in trust and vulnerability.
-
I provide a safe space for those dealing with post-traumatic stress, including the lasting effects of childhood trauma.
Those who have experienced ongoing neglect, abandonment, or emotional abuse may struggle with trust, emotional regulation, and forming secure relationships while people who were impacted by a jarring traumatic event may experience flashbacks, anxiety, emotional numbness, or struggles with emotion regulation.

As someone who has ADHD and is in an AUDHD relationship, I know the struggle of maintaining meaningful connection. I support clients with autism, ADHD, or other neurodivergent conditions who struggle with communication, emotional regulation, overstimulation, and connection in the context of important relationships. We will work together to improve coping mechanisms, self-compassion, mutual understanding, and relational dynamics - all in a way that meets your unique needs.
